IN THE MATTER OF the Insurance Act, 2006, R.S.O. 1990, c.I.8, as amended (the “Act”), in particular sections 392.4, 392.5, and 407.1;

AND IN THE MATTER OF Amin Mohammad Ali (“Ali”);

ORDER TO REVOKE LICENCE

Ali has been licensed as a life insurance and accident & sickness insurance agent since April 20, 2006, pursuant to the Act (licence #06091450). His current licence expired on July 12, 2022.

On June 3, 2022, by delegated authority from the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (the “Chief Executive Officer”), the Director, Litigation and Enforcement (“Director”) issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke Ali’s life insurance licence.

A Request for Hearing (Form 1), dated June 23, 2022, was delivered to the Financial Services Tribunal (“Tribunal”) with respect to the Notice of Proposal.

On July 19, 2023, the Tribunal issued a decision dismissing the proceeding without a hearing and directing the Chief Executive Officer to issue a final order in relation to the Notice of Proposal. Therefore, pursuant to section 407.1(4) of the Act, the Director makes the following order.

ORDER

The insurance agent licence of Amin Mohammad Ali (licence #06091450) is hereby revoked, for the reasons set out in the Notice of Proposal.
