IN THE MATTER OF the Mortgage Brokerages, Lenders and Administrators Act, 2006, S.O. 2006, c. 29, as amended (the “Act”), in particular sections 19 and 21;
AND IN THE MATTER OF Valor Financial Corp. (“Valor”).
Valor is licensed as a mortgage brokerage (licence # 13114) under the Act.
On March 20, 2023, by delegated authority from the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (the “Chief Executive Officer”), the Director, Litigation and Enforcement (the “Director”) issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the mortgage brokerage licence issued to Valor and to revoke the licence of its Principal Broker, Ian Vilafana (licence # M15000549).
Valor and Ian Vilafana submitted Requests for Hearing (Form 1), dated April 6, 2023 respectively, to the Financial Services Tribunal (the “Tribunal”) in accordance with section 21(3) of the Act respecting the Notice of Proposal.
On May 2, 2024, Valor withdrew the Request for Hearing, and on May 3, 2024, the Tribunal closed its file in respect of this matter. Ian Vilafana’s mortgage broker licence lapsed and expired on March 31, 2023.
The mortgage brokerage licence (licence # 13144) issued to Valor Financial Corp. is hereby revoked, for the reasons set out in the Notice of Proposal.
